Detection problem with extra noise observation. Does the extra observations help with detect...

Let's see what happened by analyzing Fisher information (Disclaimer: this is not a rigorous proof as it does not take into account the fact that $x$ is BPSK-modulated. …

MATLAB: Adding Noise with Regard to Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) or EbNo?

These stuffs $E_s/N_0, E_b/N_0 \textrm{ and SNR}$ are convertible. \begin{align} E_s/N_0 &= E_b/N_0 + 10\log_{10}(k) \\ E_s/N_0 &= 10\log_{10}(T_{sym}/T_{samp}) + \mathrm{SNR} \end{align} where $k$ …

Shannon capacity limit & FEC comparisons

I start with BPSK achieving 1 bits/sec/Hz over passband AWGN. Factoring in 1/3 rate coding this becomes 0.333 bits/sec/Hz. This is not correct. … However, as I said in the comment section, the comparison to this limit does not make sense as this is a binary input channel implied by the BPSK modulation. …
