I am getting IQ data from my usrp N210. It has been written in a file as a complex number and I can analyze it with matlab. The IQ data actually resembles the power of my processor. The sampling frequency is 5oo KHZ and i am using USRP to analyze my power. That means the I am taking the values from my power line for example 10 min. That means 10 *60*500000 samples, which are saved in the file as IQ format. Now my question is my power is a real value ( i measure it by a meter for every one second) and it is being processed and saved as a complex number in the file ( i have used voltage divider so that usrp can get the suitable voltage reading). For every second there are 500000 samples that are complex. Can i perform fft on these complex values? or I have to perform something else before applying fft?

  • $\begingroup$ Do you mean that your USRP is picking up the power supply's "gating"? Can you please clarify how is the signal generated in this case? $\endgroup$ – A_A Feb 25 at 8:17
