Without knowing anything about signal processing, I've started reading antirez's dump1090 code but they are so much things I struggle to understand, e.g:
- Why the sample rate set to 2MHz if the frequency is 1090MHz
- When decoding, he first looks for a preamble that would match this pattern. Where does this pattern comes from? Is it documented?
- Is it usual to flip random bits and recompute the crc to check if it fixes an error ?
To be able to understand all this I'd like to how to get started with signal processing and if you had any good resources.
