I am writing a small program for sampling a series of sensors on an Arduino. The sampling process is not 100% perfect, depending on how many sensors I am reading, the actual difference between two samplings and the sampling period differ. For optimizing this problem, I am looking for an error metric that gives me an idea on how "good" the sampling process is. Is there anything already established?

  • $\begingroup$ you know the answer highly depends on what you will be doing with those samples after getting them... (there's no perfect sampling anywehere). So your accuracy requirements are to be determined first. And I think that's you who should know them. $\endgroup$ – Fat32 Apr 17 at 10:03
