I'm getting the FSK signal from the satellite in I/Q format (see the last 2 waves at the bottom of the picture).

After applying Quadrature Demodulation, I'm getting the top wave.

The questions are:

  1. Why do I see a periodic change in the amplitude? (red line).
  2. Can it be related to the right/left-handside polarization of the satellite signal? Or is it some kind IQ imbalance?
  3. How to compensate it?

$\begingroup$ 1. tumble of the satellite or wild oscillations of your local oscillator's frequency 2. no, 3. correct for the tumble or get a better local oscillator $\endgroup$ – Marcus Müller Mar 14 '19 at 1:51
