# OFDM intra-block multipath interference

We know that OFDM eliminates the inter-block intereference. But there are still multipath interference in a single OFDM block(symbol). How does LTE handle this intra-block interference induced by multipath components so as to successfully demod. the signal ?

• In general, OFDM uses a guard interval and an equalizer (at the RX side) to compensate for inter-block (aka inter-symbol) interference. Is there something LTE specific about your question? – Deve Oct 17 '14 at 13:07
• @Deve I mean intra-block interference''. – Robert Fan Oct 18 '14 at 0:54
