# how to find the “Natural and Total Response” of the system

Hello there I am a Student.

I need to know how to find the Natural and Total Response of the given system:  where: $x(t)=e^{-t}u(t)$ and $y(0^+)=2, \dfrac{d}{dt}y(0^+)=3$. (If the image above is not clear)

This is for my exam preparation, please kindly help or at least specify where I can find the solution for this question, and best tutorial for signal and system.

• Do you know what is meant by "natural response" and "total response"? Do you know the Laplace transform? What have you tried so far? By the way, the constant factors on the left-hand side of the top equation are illegible (at least for me). – Matt L. Mar 26 '14 at 16:40
