If I have an ideal communication system with no phase noise I can recover the phase without any kind of ambiguity right? If instead I have phase noise is the carrier recovery circuit that introduces ambiguity because it can lock at a phase displaced by pi/2 wrt the true one and there is no way it can understand that "hey! This is the wrong phase!". | |
