Has anyone here studied the problem of source localisation, such as acoustic source localisation? What introductory text would you recommend?

Ultimately I want to study something else, source localisation for slow signals. Slow signals in that there is enough time for environmental factors such as wind to take effect. For example, searching for something by it's smell, like a dog.

Does any of this ring any bells for any of you out there?
